how the hell do you keep the LED on when you hold it to the board before soldering. mine just? falls off or flys away

It's kinda harder ...
It's kinda harder installing an LED on your console, you have to get a certain t screw driver to even get the chip out, or else you have to balance it. And yes, if you do use a heat source on the motherboard, it will fry it IF over? 200 degrees.

@adan117 I only take the batt out because if you solder while its plugged in depending on how your iron is grounded/if at all your actually grounding the controller causing stress to some components. You have to touch the power to the LED with the solder iron if you touch? it while the controller is on your in theory shorting the board out. If you try it you'll notice the LED dim's....I wouldn't condone trying it I'm actually telling you that it dims.

@xboxexpert but when i am led moding the controller should i keep the controller on when i am putting on the new leds or should i do it how you did when you took out the controller battery when? you found the right spot for the led

@adan117 I'm working now with ONLY a 30 watt and its going just fine for me but I know alot of users on here? dont have the background experience that I do and I notice alot of "fail" going on.

@adan117 Nope? 40 watt is going to burn those tiny LED's to hell. Buy a cheap-o RadioShack 15/30 watt and use it on 30 to take them off and 15 to put them on.
